Why Spunge?

OK, many people are curious as to why I chose spunge or what special meaning it has. Well, Let me tell you. I hope you won't be too dissappointed.
Back when I was probably in Jr. High at Continental High School (a.k.a. CHS), a classmate decided that Benji Spencer could be a fun name to change around. He decided that it could be changed into Spungy Bencer (say it out loud: ben-g-e spen-s-er - spun-g-e ben-s-er) Ok, so there are some extra letters that were just thrown in there to make it sound right. I guess this could have been some sort of slam or something, but it actually was kind of neat. Spungy was changed to Spunge over time, and the name stuck. It wasn't until I came to Moody Bible Institute did it have an official spelling though. Right after I came to MBI, I got an email account. What better username then spunge, right? After all, who else would have it. I did a little pondering on how it should be spelled. It could have been Spounge, Spungy, Spunge, or even Spungie. I decided on Spunge as the correct spelling. The rest is history I guess. It wasn't until later that I found out that there was a band that was called the same, and spelled it the same. Oh well. I have always had little problems with using that name.
