Spunge.Org pretty much offers any net service there is. The main limitation is bandwidth, so heavy bandwidth things don't do well here (i.e. streaming video/audio). However, you can find most other things here.
To apply for any of these, the best way to to contact me first at spunge@spunge.org.
Shell Account
The shell account generally comes with a 5 meg soft quota, and a 10 meg hard quota of disk space. The quota is only a way to keep
things in check. If more space is needed, it usually isn't a problem to get more. The shell also comes with email (popable), web space, and FTP space
if you need. The shell account is pretty much needed for all other services here. I have several reasons for that. The shell account is on one of two machines.
It is either on shell.spunge.org or games.spunge.org. Shell.spunge.org is the primary shell machine. you will want/get an acocunt on that machine, as long as you are not
going to run any continious background processes (i.e. bots). Games.spunge.org is the machine that is used for background processes, and anything that could be considered enternating
(muds, IRC).

FTP Access
The ftp access is generally via ftp.spunge.org. this is for both anonymous FTP, and the user FTP, unless the user has an account on games.spunge.org, then games.spunge.org is the users FTP server.
The user may request an anonymous FTP area. This will count as part of the users quota.

It is possible to apply for this by first emailing shell@spunge.org, then mailing-list@spunge.org. I use Majordomo 1.94.4 as the list software. It can do archiving, digest lists, as well as the regular lists.
I also have MajorCool for users to use to configure their lists. If a user wants their list archived to the web, I do this with MHonArc
A>.
I have also have a web based subscription interface that can be used, as well as some simple join/leave aliases.
